During the British rule a Hindu zamindar named Chandidas dominated the region. At that time, he had many influences. Chandipasa was named after the name of this zamindar. Chandidas registrar donated the land in the name of Parishad at public fund. According to the name of the place donor, the council is named as "Chandipasa Union Parishad".

After the death of Chandidas, there are two mathas built in their 1920s, Bangla 1326. Near the Union Parishad, the old buildings and buildings of his house are celebrated as a period of time.
